Business Goal
Opiniion embarked on a transformative journey to breathe new life into their legacy application. With a renewed focus on the multifamily industry, the mission was clear: modernize the platform with intuitive, user-friendly features that empowered property managers to foster deeper connections with residents. At the heart of the redesign was the integration of automated review campaigns, a game-changing tool aimed at streamlining feedback collection and driving meaningful insights. This was more than a refresh—it was a reimagining of how property managers enhance satisfaction and optimize their portfolios in a rapidly evolving landscape.
User Goal
To make this mission impactful, we set out to revolutionize how property managers connect with residents. By simplifying feedback collection through automated review campaigns, we empowered managers to focus on building meaningful relationships and improving community satisfaction. The redesigned experience offered an intuitive, effortless workflow, helping them manage portfolios efficiently while staying attuned to resident needs.
The Design Process
Redesigning Opiniion’s legacy application focused on transforming how property managers engage with residents. By prioritizing the needs of the multifamily industry, we crafted an intuitive platform that streamlines workflows, simplifies feedback collection, and delivers real-world value. The process:
01 - Discovery & Whiteboarding
We began with a clean slate, whiteboarding ideas to identify key challenges with the existing application. This collaborative approach set the stage for innovation, allowing us to visualize pain points and brainstorm solutions in real time. By breaking down workflows and mapping out user scenarios, we laid the groundwork for meaningful improvements.
05 - Visual Design
Rather than reinventing Opiniion's branding, the goal was to build on its existing identity while introducing a fresh perspective. Using the primary teal as the foundation, I incorporated warm browns and beiges to evoke a sense of "home" and connection to property spaces. The design balanced modern professionalism with a welcoming tone, reinforcing the platform’s role in fostering trust and satisfaction between property managers and residents.
02 - Stakeholder Collaboration
To align business goals with user needs, we engaged property managers, multifamily operators, and key decision-makers in the industry. Through insightful interviews, we uncovered common frustrations—such as the time-consuming nature of feedback collection—and identified opportunities for automation and streamlining. These conversations shaped the core features of the redesign.
04 - Wireframing & Iteration
With user journeys in mind, we translated concepts into wireframes, focusing on structure and functionality. Each element of the interface was tested and iterated upon, ensuring it resonated with the target audience. From simplifying navigation to integrating intuitive campaign setup tools, the wireframes served as a blueprint for a user-centric design.
06 - Development & Validation
Collaborating closely with developers, we implemented the design in sprints to ensure each feature met user expectations. Throughout development, accessibility and functionality were rigorously tested to deliver a seamless experience. Feedback loops with property managers provided validation, ensuring the platform was as intuitive and effective as envisioned

Moving Forward
The redesigned Opiniion platform sets the stage for deeper connections and streamlined workflows in the multifamily industry. With its intuitive interface and user-friendly features like automated review campaigns, property managers can focus on optimizing resident satisfaction and portfolio performance. As the platform continues to evolve, there's an opportunity to explore even more ways to empower users, whether through advanced analytics, personalized insights, or enhanced community engagement tools.
Reflections
Redesigning Opiniion’s legacy application was a journey of collaboration and growth. The whiteboarding sessions and stakeholder interviews revealed invaluable insights into the challenges property managers face and the opportunities to address them through thoughtful design. By grounding every decision in user needs and business goals, the process reinforced the importance of listening, adapting, and innovating in equal measure. This experience not only reshaped the platform but also deepened my understanding of user-centered design and its real-world impact.

Closing Thoughts
The Opiniion redesign wasn’t just about improving software—it was about rethinking the way property managers and residents connect. By streamlining workflows and automating feedback processes, the platform became more than a tool; it became a trusted ally in fostering meaningful relationships and addressing daily challenges in the multifamily industry. This journey wasn’t simply about the end product—it was about the insights gained, the perspectives shared, and the trust built along the way. Being part of this transformation reaffirmed my belief that design, at its best, creates solutions that resonate with people and empower them to thrive in their unique environments.
